The Benedictine monastery was founded in 1120 and continues today to be a center of teaching and learning. The church is impressive and imposing by it's beauty and sheer size. With it's 137 registers is the world's largest. The monasteries library houses a collection of books from it's founding days and now specializes in preservation of historical publications.
